Equifax Announces Cybersecurity Incident

Security concept: Lock on digital screen, contrast, 3d render

On Sept. 7, Equifax Inc. announced a cybersecurity breach that will potentially affect 143 million U.S. consumers. Cyber-criminals hacked a U.S. website application and gained access to files that include Social Security numbers, birth dates, addresses and in some cases driver’s license numbers and credit card numbers.

Equifax has dedicated a website to inform consumers about the breach and to help consumers identify if their information has potentially been compromised. Visit Equifax’s website for more information. Equifax also has a dedicated call center available Monday-Friday 7:00a-1:00a EST (1.866.447.7559).
